Senior Living Watch launches public regulatory monitoring for senior care facilities

Senior Living Watch (seniorliving.watch) is now publicly available. The site consolidates inspection, citation, and complaint records for nursing homes nationwide and California assisted living facilities into one searchable place, and sends subscribers email alerts when new regulatory activity appears on a facility they follow.
"I lost my mother while she was living in an assisted living community," said Jim De Vico, founder of Senior Living Watch. "In the aftermath, I found myself searching public records, trying to understand what had happened and whether there were warning signs I had missed."
"The information was scattered across government websites," he said. "It was hard to find, harder to interpret, and impossible to subscribe to. There was no way to ask the simple question: tell me if anything happens here."
"I built Senior Living Watch to give other families what I wish I'd had: a way to know, quickly and in plain terms, when something happens where someone they love lives."
"It's personal, and it should be," De Vico said. "This information is hard to find, and that is why the site exists. The care community should be visible, and we do that by putting the public record in front of people, not by scoring anyone."
Nursing home records come from the federal CMS Provider Data Catalog. California assisted living records come from the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.

It covers nursing homes nationwide through federal CMS data and assisted living state by state from each state's own licensing agency.
